How this page helps (and who we are)

This page exists to help you slow down before you click, reply, or worry. It’s not a test, and there’s nothing to “complete” here.

You can use this page to recognize common warning signs, take safe next steps, and decide what you want to do — at your own pace.

If Something Feels Off

You don’t need to be “tech-savvy” to trust your instincts. Here are common signs something may be wrong:

  • It creates urgency: “Do this now” or “your account will be closed.”
  • It pushes secrecy: “Don’t tell anyone” or “keep this private.”
  • It triggers fear, guilt, or pressure to act quickly.
  • It asks for money, gift cards, crypto, or unusual payments.
  • It requests codes, passwords, or personal information.
Reminder: If you feel even slightly unsure, pausing is the smart move.

What To Do

  • Pause. Take a breath. You’re allowed to take time.
  • Don’t click links or download attachments.
  • Don’t reply until you’ve verified who it’s really from.
  • Don’t send money or “verification codes.”
  • If needed, save a screenshot or the message for reference.
Best next step: If you want a second opinion, describe what happened to Cypher — without sharing private info.

What NOT To Do

  • Don’t feel embarrassed — scams target trust, not intelligence.
  • Don’t rush, even if someone tries to pressure you.
  • Don’t argue with the sender or try to “outsmart” them.
  • Don’t share passwords, banking info, or personal IDs.
  • Don’t blame yourself for being targeted.

When to Pause Completely

  • You feel anxious, overwhelmed, or unsure.
  • You’re tired or distracted (that’s when mistakes happen).
  • Someone demands immediate action or threatens consequences.
  • Your gut says “this is weird.”
Key idea: Pausing breaks urgency — and urgency is what scammers rely on.
